Speaker, Trainer & Workshop Facilitator

As a BACP therapist, founder of both Men's Therapy Hub and M-Path, and former BBC journalist I bring together clinical expertise, lived experience and more than a decade of public speaking experience to deliver honest, engaging and thought-provoking talks about issues that affect men and that men effect.

My work focuses on topics including:

  • Men's mental health
  • Masculinity and emotional wellbeing
  • Developing empathy and improving communication
  • Male inclusion in DEI
  • Suicide, shame and emotional suppression
  • Boys and young men's mental health
  • Building healthier workplace cultures

Whether I'm speaking to workplaces, conference audiences, schools or universities, my talks combine therapeutic insight, lived experience, research and storytelling to engage people in conversations that are often avoided but desperately needed.

Every talk is tailored to the audience, combining honesty, warmth and challenge to leave people with practical ideas they can apply long after the session has finished.

Why I Do This Work

Much of my work is informed by my own journey. Following the death of my father, I struggled with drug misuse and emotional isolation. For more than a decade since then, I have dedicated my work to engaging men in the conversations many of us avoid. Along the way I've written a book about men, made documentaries for the BBC about men, founded two organisations dedicated to men's mental health and trained as a psychotherapist specialising in working with men.

I speak openly about the impact of silence, shame and emotional suppression, while offering audiences hope, practical tools and new perspectives on what it means to be a man today. My years of experience have given me a deeper understanding of the challenges many men face and continue to shape the way I speak about mental health, resilience and personal growth.

My goal is not simply to raise awareness, but to help people start conversations that lead to lasting change in how men see themselves and how the world sees men.

Whether you're looking for a keynote speaker on men's mental health, a workplace wellbeing facilitator, a speaker on masculinity and emotional wellbeing or a workshop leader for young people, I deliver engaging sessions that continue to resonate long after the event has ended.

Talks & keynotes

Engaging Men in Cultural Change

Many organisations are committed to creating more inclusive workplaces, yet conversations about gender often overlook the experiences and challenges facing men and boys. This evidence-informed talk explores why male inclusion matters within Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies, and how engaging men in these important topics will benefit everyone.

The session examines issues such as mental health, educational outcomes, fatherhood, workplace culture and belonging, offering a balanced and constructive approach to building truly inclusive environments.

Popular with: Workplaces, HR teams, DEI professionals, public sector organisations and leadership conferences.

Men, Masculinity and Mental Health

Conversations about men's mental health often focus on the outcomes - suicide, addiction, violence, loneliness and poor help-seeking - without exploring the beliefs and experiences that shape them. This talk examines how rigid ideas around masculinity influence the way many men think, communicate and relate to themselves and others, and why understanding those experiences is essential if we want to create lasting change.

Drawing on psychology, lived experience and years of therapeutic work with men, the session explores the pressures facing men and boys today, the impact of shame and emotional suppression, and how healthier conversations can improve wellbeing, strengthen relationships and build more connected communities.

Popular with: Employers, charities, healthcare organisations, public sector organisations, schools, colleges, universities.

Workshops & training

Understanding Men's Mental Health

An engaging and thought-provoking workshop exploring the challenges facing men and boys today, including mental health, loneliness, emotional suppression and help-seeking. This session examines how traditional cultural expectations placed on men can impact mental health and wellbeing, and offers practical ways to create healthier conversations, stronger relationships and more supportive communities.

Participants leave with a deeper understanding of men's mental health, practical strategies for improving communication and a renewed confidence in creating cultures where people feel safe to speak openly and seek support.

Popular with: Workplaces, conferences, universities, charities and community organisations.

Empathy in Leadership

Empathy is one of the most important skills for building healthier relationships, stronger teams and more inclusive cultures. This talk explores how empathy can be developed, why emotional intelligence matters and how deeper self-awareness and stronger interpersonal skills can transform communication, leadership and collaboration.

Participants leave with practical tools for listening more effectively, understanding different perspectives, navigating difficult conversations and building stronger relationships in their workplaces, schools and communities. They gain a greater appreciation of how empathy can be developed, rather than simply expected, and how small changes in communication can have a lasting impact on wellbeing, connection and organisational culture.

Popular with: Leadership teams, workplaces, schools and professional conferences.
